REDHA TO RECEIVE THEATRICAL RELEASE IN LOS ANGELES, USA
Award winning film, (Beautiful Pain) Redha by Tunku Mona Riza will be exclusively screened at The Leammle Playhouse 7, Pasadena Movie Theater in Los Angeles from Dec 9-15, 2016. Distributed by Barking Cow, this screening will boost its official campaign and chances to clinch the country’s first ever Oscar nomination in Best Foreign Language category. In addition, there will be a special screening of Redha organized by WRAP on Nov 28th and with the members of Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts & Sciences (AMPAS) and Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) on Nov 29th.
Previously, Redha has already received a leg-up in its foreign-language Oscar campaign by entering 74th Golden Globes Awards in several eligible categories and has successfully bagged multiple awards including Best Actress award (June Lojong) and a Special Festival Prize for Humanism in Film at the World Premiere International Film Festival Philippines, Special Prize Award by The President of Tatarstan for Humanism in Cinematography, a Special Prize Award by the Russian Film Critics Guild, and also the award for the Ensemble of Actors for Best Actors (Namron, Harith Haziq and Izzy Reef) at 12th Kazan International Muslim Film Festival, Merit Award at Los Angeles International Film Festival and recently, Discretionary Jury Award-Courage in Storytelling at 2016 Asian World Film Festival.
