People often ask me which Tokyo hotels I've stayed in, and I don't usually give recommendations. There are so many options, and I don't think you should stick to a list of someone's recommendations. Really, there are a lot of good hotels in Japan, so there's no need to worry too much about which to choose. Hopefully this video will demonstrate that! Including reviews, my honest opinion, views from the window and recommendations for how to book a hotel online.

Ideas for things to do in Shinjuku, one of the main areas of Tokyo, Japan.

Shinjuku's one of my favourite areas - it really feels like the city of Tokyo: big, busy, with neon lights, skyscrapers and lots going on. Here's what it's like in Shinjuku, with a round-up of things to do there. Including a free view of the city from the observation deck at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, Shinjuku Park (Shinjuku Gyoen), Godzilla at the Hotel Gracery, the Samurai Museum, shopping, department stores, karaoke, games arcades, the Robot Restaurant, the Golden Gai, Omoide Yokocho (aka Memory Lane or Piss Alley!) and Kabukicho.

See what's in Shinjuku, Tokyo, in my tour looking at all the bright lights, shops, arcades, karaoke, restaurants, winter illuminations & interesting things along the way!

Shinjuku is a major area of Tokyo, with lots of shops, places to eat, nightlife and things to do. It's still really busy at night and in the evening, with nightlife, bars, arcades and crowds of people. Take a walk with me around the area, looking at interesting things at the station, Kabukicho (the red light district), Godzilla at the Hotel Gracery, interesting buildings, department stores and lots more.
