Chewy Brownies with Salted Caramel Sauce.
Salted Caramel Sauce :
1 cup ( 200g ) granulated sugar
6 tbsp ( 90g ) salted butter, divide into smaller pieces
1/2 cup ( 120ml ) heavy cream ( or whipping cream with > 30% fats )
1 tsp salt
Heat sugar over medium heat and stir to avoid burnt sugar
When sugar is brown and liquid, add butter
Stir until well mixed
Add in heavy cream and stir
Allow to boil for 1 min
Remove from heat and add salt
Cool before storing
Brownies ( 1 tray ) :
1/2 cup unsalted butter ( if salted please skip 1/4 tsp salt )
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt ( skip is using salted butter )
1/4 tsp baking powder
Preheat oven to 175 degrees
Lay grease paper into baking pan
Melt 1/2 cup butter
Stir in sugar, eggs, vanilla into butter
Sift in flour, salt, cocoa, baking powder, mix well
Pour batter evenly into the pan
Drizzle Salted Caramel Sauce on the batter, run a fork or chopstick to create pattern and make sure sauce is evenly spread ( OPTIONAL )
Bake for 25 - 30 mins
Allow cool for bout 10 mins then remove brownies to allow further cooling for bout 10 mins
Bonus : Vanilla ice cream and crushed nuts
