Lonely days in London
The lonely days—because University workers have formed picket lines on campuses across the UK of the “biggest-ever wave of strikes” over higher education pay, pensions and working conditions, so they block the main building and stop all the classes and courses about 4 weeks. I got nowhere to go, like a ghost walking on the street. It was my first time visited the Senate House Library, although I pass by it every time when I go to school. It is beautiful and elegant, however, staying half-hour I ran away.
I count and count the day that I can fly back home. I wrote to my supervisor that I couldn't endure anymore, people here are cold and far away, telling that they need to be left alone because they want to sort out their problems, the wonderful professor of Marxism refuses to have class and asked us to join the protest. I cannot understand people here and was overwhelmed by all the surprising culture shock. Wish I were home now if I could. If it continues striking, then I don't think I need to stay here, hope to buy a ticket flying back immediately.
