按摩方法大不同
一次舒適到位的按摩,可讓人消除疲勞、紓緩肌肉繃緊帶來的不適,甚至紓解情緒壓力。然而按摩手法繁多,推拿、推油、指壓、泰式按摩、腳底按摩等等,你知道它們的分別嗎?
💆🏻 中醫推拿按摩
以治療為目標的按摩,中醫師先了解患者體質及病況,會按經絡循行及穴位,以推拿、按摩以至針灸方式作治療,有助紓緩痛症。
💆🏻 推油
加入香薰精油進行按摩,讓精油滲入皮膚之中,按摩時充斥着香薰味道。推油按摩必需脫去衣物進行,由於全身抹有精油,皮膚會較為滋潤。
💆🏻 指壓
按摩師利用手指對全身經絡、穴道進行按壓,亦會針對痠痛位置進行按、揉、撥等動作,紓緩肌肉緊繃。指壓會隔着衣服進行,通常不使用工具。
💆🏻 泰式按摩
從古印度傳入泰國的按摩手法,以活動關節為主,較為大動作,類似被動式瑜珈,按摩時穿著較柔軟衣服。
🦶🏻 腳底按摩
人體五臟六腑在腳底都有相應的反射區,按摩腳底有助血氣循環,暢通血脈,有助紓緩相對應臟腑的症狀。
除了由註冊中醫師主理的推拿按摩,其餘按摩方式均為保健方法,有助減壓,促進氣血運行,強化筋骨肌肉,但未必是最適合的治療方法,如患有持續筋骨肌肉痛症,「揼骨」後症狀未有改善,宜向註冊中醫師或專業人士求診治理。

Different types of massages
A good massage can relieve fatigue, stress, and the tension in our muscles. There are so many types of massage services available in the market. Do you know the differences?
💆🏻 Traditional Chinese massage (‘tui na’)
Mainly for treatment purposes. After understanding the patients’ body constitution and health condition, Chinese medicine practitioners will then identify and massage the Meridian and acupoints on the body. They might also use acupuncture to relieve pain.
💆🏻 Oil massage
Massage using essential oils. The essential oils, which will give out fragrance, will then seep into the skin. During the session, clients will have to remove their clothes. The essential oils applied on the body will also moisten the skin.
💆🏻 The Shiatsu massage (‘zhi ya’)
Shiatsu massage therapists will massage the Meridian and acupoints of the body using their fingers. They will also press and rub to relieve muscle soreness on specific body parts. During the session, clients are fully clothed. Generally, the massage therapists do not need additional equipment to complete the session.
💆🏻 Thai massage
Inherited from ancient India, the techniques focus on the joints. Thai massage involves yoga-like big moves. During the session, clients have to put on a set of thin and soft clothes.
🦶🏻 Reflexology (foot massage)
There are reflective zones on our foot soles that represent our internal organs. A foot massage can aid the circulation of blood and qi and relieve symptoms when the functions of the internal organs are disrupted.
Besides the treatment-based traditional Chinese massage, the other massages focus more on relieving stress, improving the circulation of qi and blood, and strengthening the muscles and tendons. They might not be the best options for those with more severe medical conditions. Patients who experience continuous musculoskeletal disorders should consult registered and licensed Chinese medicine practitioner or medical experts.

孝子:「爸爸年紀漸長,不時抱怨膝痛走不動,吃止痛藥也沒有用,應該怎麼辦?」
CheckCheckCin:膝痛走不動多源於關節退化,關節退化是自然的老化現象,症狀包括關節疼痛、酸軟無力、僵硬、上落樓梯有困難等,多見於長者、骨質疏鬆症患者及長期體力勞動者。中醫典籍《黃帝內經》提到男士「五八(40歲)腎氣衰」,而且「五臟之中,腎主藏精,主骨生髓」,由於男人的腎氣從40歲開始減弱,腎精不足導致骨髓空虛,骨質無法得到足夠養分,關節隨之退化,影響腿腳活動。如果膝關節不適症狀影響日常生活,應該盡早求醫。也可以透過以下方式著手,防止及延緩關節老化。
- 控制體重,以免過重而加重膝關節負擔,甚至引發關節炎
- 多穿長褲避免膝關節受寒
- 每天早上10時前或下午4時後曬太陽20至30分鐘,吸收維他命D及補充陽氣
- 少提重物,如提取重物時要保持正確姿勢,下蹲並降低身體重心,身體盡量貼近重物,挺直腰背,靠腿部力量抬起重物
- 適量進食養腎食物,例如夕米水、黑芝麻、黑豆、蠔、瑤柱、核桃、腰果等
- 每天按摩腎經穴位,活躍腎經內氣
腎經首穴 — 湧泉穴
功效:滋陰養腎、強精益髓,防治腰腿酸軟無力
位置:足底,屈足捲趾時足心凹陷處
方法:每天用大拇指用力打圈按揉2-3分鐘
Take care of your kidneys early to protect your knees
“As my dad gets older, he often complains about knee pain and difficulty walking. Pain killers do not seem to work, what can we do?"
CheckCheckCin: Knee pain and difficulty walking are mostly caused by degenerative joint.
Joint degeneration is a natural part of aging. Its symptoms include joint pain, weakness and soreness, stiffness, difficulty in walking up and down stairs. It is common with the elderly, osteoporosis patients and long-term manual workers. Ancient Chinese medicine book “Huangdi Neijing” mentioned that men’s kidney qi get worse after the age of 40. Insufficient kidney essence leads to empty marrow. The bone cannot get enough nutrients. Therefore, joint degenerates then affects leg movement. You can seek for medical help if knee joint discomfort affects your daily live. You can also start to prevent and relieve joint degeneration by doing the following.
- Control your weight so as not to overburden your knees and even cause arthritis
- Wear trousers more often to avoid exposing your knees to cold
- Expose yourself to sunlight for 20 to 30 minutes every day before 10 am or after 4 pm to absorb vitamin D and replenish yang qi
- Lift less heavy objects. If you have to lift heavy objects, keep your posture proper. Lower your center of gravity by squatting down. Keep your body close to heavy objects, straighten your back, and lift heavy objects using your leg strength.
- Appropriately consume ingredients that nourish kidney, such as dusk rice water, black sesame, black beans, oyster, dried scallops, walnuts, cashews, etc.
- Massage the kidney points every day to active kidney qi
Kidney meridian point - Yong Quan Point
Effect: nourishes yin and kidneys, strengthens your marrow. To prevent weak leg and waist
Location: bottom of feet, curl up your toes and it is located at the depressed point at the center of your feet
Method: use your thumb and massage in circular motion for 2 to 3 minutes every day.

推拿緩解小朋友便秘
為人父母後,個個都自動升級做「便便專家」,一天到晚都研究寶寶的便便,因為便便細節直接反映寶寶的健康狀況,而最讓父母頭痛的相信就是寶寶便秘!有時是好幾天沒有大便,或者因大便乾燥堅硬,而令排便困難,實在是「秘」在兒身,父母擔心!
想紓緩便秘情況,可以從日常飲食和推拿入手,讓寶寶多喝水,適量進食具潤腸通便功效的食物,例如無花果、火龍果、黑芝麻、核桃、蜂蜜(1歲以下不能食用蜂蜜)等,少吃屬性偏熱的食物,包括煎炸、油膩及烘焙食物。
中醫的小兒推拿手法,能紓緩寶寶的便秘問題,就算手法或取穴略有出入,只會減低功效而不會引起不良反應,尤其適合0-6歲小兒,針對便秘問題可以推拿小兒的以下兩個部位,每日一次,五日為一個療程。
小兒便秘推拿手法
1. 清大腸經300下
位置:食指靠拇指的側邊,由食指至虎口成一直線。
手法:以拇指指腹從虎口單向推動至食指指尖。
2. 順時針摩腹5分鐘
位置:以肚臍為圓心,肋骨下緣為半徑。
手法:以手掌或中間三指,順時針摩腹5分鐘。
Use massage to relieve children constipation
All parents become poop specialists as they examine their baby’s poop all the time. Constipation can be quite worrying. Some babies can go a few days without bowel movement, or the stool may be hard and dry making it hard to pass.
To relieve constipation, try to adjust regular diet and use massage. Let your baby drink more water, and appropriately eat things that can moisten the bowel to relieve constipation such as figs, dragon fruit, black sesame, walnut, honey (babies under 1 year old cannot have honey), avoid hot natured food such as fried, oily and baked food.
Chinese medicine baby massage can also relieve constipation. Even if you method or location is not exact, you will not create adverse effects, and especially suitable for children aged 0-6. Here are two locations to massage for constipation, massage once daily for five days for a treatment course.
1. Clear your large intestine meridian for 300 times
Location: From the thumb side of your index finger, forming a straight line from the connecting point of thumb and index to the tip of index finger
Method: Use your thumb to press from the thumb and index connecting point to tip of index finger in one direction
2. Massage your abdomen clockwise for 5 minutes
Location: Use your belly button as the center point, and the radius measuring to below your rib cage
Method: Use your palm or three middle fingers to massage clockwise for 5 minutes
