Founded in 2014 or just 6 years ago
The main products that the company has chosen to sell are ′′ bed ′′
Because it's something to use regularly because humans sleep average of 6-8 hours a day.
However, Casper in the early stages couldn't convince investors to care about their business.
Y ' all don't believe consumers buy site mattresses that often.
Because it's quite expensive and the product has been used for years.
This industry is also a large market worth around 1,200,000 million baht.
With a lot of retail players competing fiercely
Making the owner of the company to pay personal money. Try to produce the product first. Until it's in debt of 3 million baht.
Casper's mattresses are designed with good quality materials like Memory Foam, which fits the user's body, so it reduces pressure and makes us sleep better.
The sale price is between 11,000 to 35,000 baht, which is not expensive like various retail stores.
Including the company is open to return within 100 days and warranty for 10 years.
When businesses look into form, there is a group of Venture Capital investors coming to support funding.
Make Casper finally able to launch the platform
Originally, they predicted the first year of income at around 60 million baht.
But the result appears that just the first 2 months, sales have gone through the target.
If you ask me why Casper mattresses are selling well.
The answer would be a marketing strategy that attracts consumers in this era.
Casper's most highlights. Apart from quality and price.
It's packing small boxed mattress products to be shipped to customers.
When the box is removed, put it on the base of the bed, the mattress will gradually blister up as if it lives.
This unique creates a trend of posting video clips, unpacking boxes and placing Casper mattresses on social media platforms.
Especially when famous people post like Kylie Jenner's case talking about their Instagram and YouTube casper mattresses generated over 870,000 likes.
Therefore, companies are primarily focused on advertising on social media
By hiring actresses and influencer to make casper product containers
Later, when the brand is famous, there are more interested in investing.
Target major retail malls, A-Grade Investment. Ashton Kutcher's fund.
Or entertainment industry people like Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio, Adam Levine etc.
The company therefore puts future vision to step into a virtual Nike of sleep.
By expanding the business to other sleep related items such as pillow, bed sheet, lamp.
Also invested to build over 200 storefronts
And expanding services to foreign countries such as Canada, Germany, England.
Performance of Casper Sleep Inc. Continuing to grow
Year 2017 Income 7,900 million baht. Loss of 2,300 million baht.
Year 2018 Income 11,200 million baht. Loss of 2,900 million baht.
Year 2019 Income 13,800 million baht. Loss of 2,950 million baht.
Casper used to be evaluated by business value at 34,500 million baht. It is a starter cuddle Unicorn decoration.
And on February 2020, the company got the IPO listed into the New York Stock Exchange.
But the latest stock value has gone down to around 11,300 million baht.
This may be the result of Casper's losses and marketing advertisement costs quite high.
Assemble Casper's success, it has resulted in competitors selling online mattresses for less than 175 companies.
Including big ones like Walmart and Amazon
Online mattress selling has become a new trend in the market which makes the largest US mattress firm retailer named Mattress Firm who has been in business for 33 years. Sales of 107,000 million baht. Bankruptcy announced in 2018
This is an interesting case study
Although the product doesn't seem to fit online sales.
But did you know that when we walk in the mall to buy a mattress, we listen to the sales staff speak differently than we see online reviews. Trying with a real mattress may not affect the decision that we initially thought.
If you can make a point of selling by letting people review the products.
So that there is a trend. Let's talk about it widely.
Maybe we can sell the kind that people don't think they can sell like Casper's bed..

Abstract:
1.Deep Learning based Wireless Resource Allocation
【Abstract】
Judicious resource allocation is critical to mitigating interference, improving network efficiency, and ultimately optimizing wireless network performance. The traditional wisdom is to explicitly formulate resource allocation as an optimization problem and then exploit mathematical programming to solve it to a certain level of optimality. However, as wireless networks become increasingly diverse and complex, such as high-mobility vehicular networks, the current design methodologies face significant challenges and thus call for rethinking of the traditional design philosophy. Meanwhile, deep learning represents a promising alternative due to its remarkable power to leverage data for problem solving. In this talk, I will present our research progress in deep learning based wireless resource allocation. Deep learning can help solve optimization problems for resource allocation or can be directly used for resource allocation. We will first present our research results in using deep learning to solve linear sum assignment problems (LSAP) and reduce the complexity of mixed integer non-linear programming (MINLP), and introduce graph embedding for wireless link scheduling. We will then discuss how to use deep reinforcement learning directly for wireless resource allocation with application in vehicular networks.
2.Deep Learning in Physical Layer Communications
【Abstract】
It has been demonstrated recently that deep learning (DL) has great potentials to break the bottleneck of the conventional communication systems. In this talk, we present our recent work in DL in physical layer communications. DL can improve the performance of each individual (traditional) block in the conventional communication systems or jointly optimize the whole transmitter or receiver. Therefore, we can categorize the applications of DL in physical layer communications into with and without block processing structures. For DL based communication systems with block structures, we present joint channel estimation and signal detection based on a fully connected deep neural network, model-drive DL for signal detection, and some experimental results. For those without block structures, we provide our recent endeavors in developing end-to-end learning communication systems with the help of deep reinforcement learning (DRL) and generative adversarial net (GAN). At the end of the talk, we provide some potential research topics in the area.
3.Machine Learning Interference Management
【Abstract】
In this talk, we discuss how machine learning algorithms can address the performance issues of high-capacity ultra-dense small cells in an environment with dynamical traffic patterns and time-varying channel conditions. We introduce a bi adaptive self-organizing network (Bi-SON) to exploit the power of data-driven resource management in ultra-dense small cells (UDSC). On top of the Bi-SON framework, we further develop an affinity propagation unsupervised learning algorithm to improve energy efficiency and reduce interference of the operator deployed and the plug-and-play small cells, respectively. Finally, we discuss the opportunities and challenges of reinforcement learning and deep reinforcement learning (DRL) in more decentralized, ad-hoc, and autonomous modern networks, such as Internet of things (IoT), vehicle -to-vehicle networks, and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) networks.
Bio:
Dr. Geoffrey Li is a Professor with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. He was with AT&T Labs – Research for five years before joining Georgia Tech in 2000. His general research interests include statistical signal processing and machine learning for wireless communications. In these areas, he has published around 500 referred journal and conference papers in addition to over 40 granted patents. His publications have cited by 37,000 times and he has been listed as the World’s Most Influential Scientific Mind, also known as a Highly-Cited Researcher, by Thomson Reuters almost every year since 2001. He has been an IEEE Fellow since 2006. He received 2010 IEEE ComSoc Stephen O. Rice Prize Paper Award, 2013 IEEE VTS James Evans Avant Garde Award, 2014 IEEE VTS Jack Neubauer Memorial Award, 2017 IEEE ComSoc Award for Advances in Communication, and 2017 IEEE SPS Donald G. Fink Overview Paper Award. He also won the 2015 Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Tech.
Li-Chun Wang (M'96 -- SM'06 -- F'11) received Ph. D. degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, in 1996. From 1996 to 2000, he was with AT&T Laboratories, where he was a Senior Technical Staff Member in the Wireless Communications Research Department. Currently, he is the Chair Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Director of Big Data Research Center of of National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. Dr. Wang was elected to the IEEE Fellow in 2011 for his contributions to cellular architectures and radio resource management in wireless networks. He was the co-recipients of IEEE Communications Society Asia-Pacific Board Best Award (2015), Y. Z. Hsu Scientific Paper Award (2013), and IEEE Jack Neubauer Best Paper Award (1997). He won the Distinguished Research Award of Ministry of Science and Technology in Taiwan twice (2012 and 2016). He is currently the associate editor of IEEE Transaction on Cognitive Communications and Networks. His current research interests are in the areas of software-defined mobile networks, heterogeneous networks, and data-driven intelligent wireless communications. He holds 23 US patents, and have published over 300 journal and conference papers, and co-edited a book, “Key Technologies for 5G Wireless Systems,” (Cambridge University Press 2017).

The interesting geological landscape of Xiaoyeliu was transformed through years of geological events, weathering and erosion. And the nature of its stratum, which is composed of overlapping layers of sandstone and mudstone, is the main ingredient to these unique sculptures.
如此有趣的地質景觀,是因為小野柳經過長年的地質變動,以及風化和海水侵蝕,加上它的地質性質,是由厚層砂岩和薄層泥岩交互沈積而成,創造了這些造型奇特的地質現象。
Aside from the beautiful scenery here, there are also many popular legends. The most famous one is about Sanxiantai.Back then, you will have to wait for the outgoing tide to walk over and visit. Nowaday with the bridge built in between, it becomes more accessible.
東部海岸除了漂亮的風景之外,這裡也有很多美麗的傳說,最有名的就是三仙台,以前得等到退潮才能過去,自從蓋了橋之後,一切都變的簡單多了。
From this angle you can take the coolest picture of Sanxiantai,having all 8 arch bridges in one shot. It looks like a giant dragon flying over the sea, doesn’t it?
這個角度,可以拍到三仙台最經典的照片,8座拱形的步橋連接起來,看起來是不是很像一條巨龍,飛翔在海上呢?
So,Sanxiantai used to be connected to the main island, and due to coastal erosion it became separated. If you literally translate Sanxiantai into English, It means the island of the three saints, represented by the three rocks.
以前三仙台跟本島是相連的,而會成為離岸島,是受到海水侵蝕的關係,為什麼這裡會被稱三仙台,傳說中有三個神仙,曾經在島上休息過。

The size of Sanxiantai is as big as 27 football fields! I have got lots of energy so let’s walk around the area and look for the 3 immortals!

However, for the native Amis Tribe, Sanxiantai is their traditional hunting and fishing ground and it is where food comes from. They called it “nuwalian”, which means “the place on the far east side”.
不過,對住在這的阿美族而言,三仙台是他們傳統的漁獵場和食物採集地,他們稱這裡叫”nuwalian”,意思就是「最東邊的地方」。
This is the Pisilian community, an enchanted Amis Tribe. The music instrument they were playing is called the “Paw-Paw” drum.
這裡是「比西里岸」,是非常迷人的阿美族部落,他們這裡最著名的樂器表演,叫做”寶抱鼓”!
The “Paw-Paw drum ”is created by local artists. They use recycled plastic floats of stationary fishing net and driftwood; then put on traditional Amis patterns, and turn it into a one and only Pisilian-style green instrument.
寶抱鼓是當地藝術家所創造的,利用廢棄的定置漁網浮筒和漂流木,加上阿美族圖騰裝飾,打造出專屬比西里岸部落的環保樂器。
