This is fact and 💯 true. Being our true self it seems not enough in this current world we live in. People like perfection, flawless and artificial. In reality, it is different, we are not dolls or robots. We are humans, we are not perfect, and it's okay. We need to accept ourselves and people around us, their real look.
Pimples, wrinkles, scars - imperfection is what makes us human. Ageing is normal too, don't let anyone take that away from you. Not everyone is lucky enough to age. Age gracefully. The entertainment industry makes us view beauty differently than it should.
We fancy those who wear heavy makeup, modified their face and body, plastic surgery, fillers, artificial face features, artificial beauty through filters, photoshop, and so much more. And when we compare them to ourselves, we would feel we are not enough.
Going out there without makeup makes people think you are sick or pale, but they forgot that you are being natural and embrace your real beauty. You are beautiful just as how God created you no matter how imperfect your physical is.
The real people who understand and accept you for who you are will never judge you based on your physical but more of your character. It's better to be kind and natural than being a bad human and fake.
I'm not perfect. I live in this era where beauty and entertainment are cool and people want to be it and make it. In fact, I also work in this industry. I write, I captured images, I edited them, it's part of my work and client needs. But going outside and if you are close to me, you will know I hate to wear makeup and if I have to because of work or events, it's very minimal, I like the feeling of being free from makeup and just to look natural as I can. I try my best not to change my physical appearance no matter what the industry and some people told me in order to be more glamorous and famous in the industry because I believed in being as natural as I can be.
Being ourselves might not attract many people but it will attract the right people. So be you. Be natural. The right people for you will love you and be together with you on your life journey. We must be thankful for how we look and what we have no matter how small it is. What you have I probably don't have and vice versa. That's how we as human continue to feel grateful and improve ourselves from time to time.
Focus on what we have and appreciate every tiny bit. Self-love, self-care. Love yourself first, then you are able to love others better. 💗
