Previously known as Dalala Bistro and under the same management as Monsieur Bar Restaurant, the Song Izakaya occupies the prominent corner spot at the junction of Acheen Street Ghaut and Victoria Street. It's easy to notice this place... thanks to the hanging Japanese lanterns and tall bar chairs, suggesting the place as a Japanese-inspired bar. Oddly, the alcohol selection is weaker than expected though... with some Sake (Japanese Rice Wine) choices. The food menu on the other hand, is larger... offering a wide selection of rice rolls, Japanese Don, Agemono and various set meals. The price tags however, can be quite hefty judging from the serving portion (though the set menu offers better values). For the price points, we expected to receive more in return (both quality and serving portion).

到我嚟好火嘅Yakiniku Jumbo HK 打咭啦!如果你超鍾意食日本和牛,呢到啱曬你!由頭牛到尾嘅omakase要$1280。我同朋友3個人叫咗2個set都飽到喉嚨頂!清酒同葡萄酒list係中環價,開瓶要$300,不如係呢到叫!和牛好好食,不過我覺得好漏😛,應該要遲d先再幫襯!😆 🥩 🍶叫咗谷川岳純米大吟釀試試,味道優雅遍爽帶果香及米香,都係紅酒幫助消化多d!🍷
My turn to check in at the hot restaurant in town - Yakiniku Jumbo HK! If u love Japanese Wagyu beef, this is a must try place! All beef omakase is $1280 per head. We have 3 people sharing 2 sets & we r super full! We also order a pork dish to try. Sake & wine list is decent with Central price list, corkage is $300/bottle, so it’s better to order here. Wagyu beef is very yummy, but I find it very oily for me to eat Wagyu beef from starter till the end😛, guess I’ve to digest a while before I visit again! 😆🥩 ordered Tanigawadake Junmai Daiginjo, it’s elegant & crispy with fruity & rice flavours. But I think red wine suits better to cut the oiliness of the meal! 🍷
