So this week I tipped $5,000 at some of my absolute favorite Chinese takeout spots in New York City. The whole restaurant industry in New York City has been devastated by COVID and Chinese restaurants have been particularly hard-hit. So I wanted to give them a nice tip to show them how much we love and support them here at Xiaomanyc! Especially because it's Chinese New Year and it's a perfect time to give these restaurants some nice red envelopes. If you would like to get out there and support these NYC restaurants yourself, here are links to their pages on Yelp. Most are located in NYC’s Manhattan Chinatown. They are all awesome and highly recommended!

Here's part two of my adventures speaking Japanese in the countryside!
All the places I visited in Hida Takayama are listed here:

A special thank you to the city of Takayama for inviting me out! While the usual festivals are cancelled until next year they still want to keep their city alive and show you what to expect next year.
This video is sponsored but all opinions and shenanigans are my own. Thanks for having me!

Hi! My name is Loretta, a girl from the U.S. who moved to Japan! I'm here on the MEXT scholarship program as a graduate student, studying to get a Masters in Business Administration. Here are some answers to common questions:
1. Do I Speak Japanese? Yep! I was taught formally in High School and have been speaking now for over 15 years.
2. What are you studying? I'm a recent grad of Yokohama National University's "Masters of Business Administration" Program
3. How old are you?: Year of the dragon. :D The math is up to you.
4. How did you get into Japanese school?: http://tinyurl.com/yb8yylch
5. What camera equipment do you use?: I film my videos with a Canon 60D using a 30mm Sigma Art Lens and I edit with Sony Vegas Pro 10 (with some help from photoshop). Additional cameras include GoPro Hero 7 Black and DJI Majic Air
