Japan is a dream destination for many, especially during Sakura season.
Kagoshima (South of Japan) is one of the hidden gems waiting to be discovered, offering jaw dropping tourist attractions and amazing parks filled with Sakura trees!
In this vlog, we visited Tadamoto Park and Yoshino Park in Kagoshima, which are both super empty.
We could take all the photos and videos we wanted without squeezing with the crowd or worrying that we'd get photobombed.
Definitely a place worth adding to your bucket list!

Fukuoka is the main city on Kyushu, the southernmost of Japan's main islands. It's a great base for a exploring the rest of the island, and taking day trips to Kagoshima, Sakurajima, Kumamoto, the Beppu Hells (Beppu Jigoku), Nagasaki, Yufuin, Dazaifu and Yanagawa. In Fukuoka itself there's the castle ruins, shopping, Canal City Mall (with a One Piece show every night), parks, seaside areas, a zoo, aquarium, islands in the bay and more. Here's my round-up, with my itinerary, things I didn't do, travel tips and recommendations.

Exploring Sakurajima, an active volcano in Kyushu, Japan. Perfect day trip from Fukuoka on the shinkansen (bullet train).

From Fukuoka we took the shinkansen all the way to the end of the line to Kagoshima, then the ferry across to Sakurajima, one of the most active volcanoes in Japan. It erupts every day - so there's a good chance you'll see one! You can explore the lava walking trails, try a hot spring footbath (free of charge), go to the observation points and take a bus tour around the island. It's a great chance to see a different type of unique Japanese countryside!
