The 7th Trending Taiwan #ShortFilm #Competition has just launched with a total prize pool of NT$930,000 and #WeWantYou to take part!

If you think you can capture a moment that encapsulates what makes Taiwan great, you can enter the creative/open category, which focuses on showcasing Taiwan in a documentary-style format. Whereas, if you think you have a unique take on how to market the Taiwanese brand to the world, you might want to opt for the all-new brand story category!

You can submit your entry from now until October 16, so grab a camera and get to grips with Taiwan’s DNA! The competition is now in its 7th year and, as always, is open to foreign nationals and Taiwanese alike, so let’s make this one special!

[Startups are the ultimate drama series]

Hello everybody! I'm David and I'm new to AppWorks. I joined as an associate 6 months ago and have truly enjoyed getting to know everybody in the ecosystem, both in Taiwan and our international friends on Zoom. There really is something special about this startup community and I look forward to meeting and learning from all of the people in this ecosystem and beyond.

For me, one of the most exciting things about this space is the uncertainty. Uncertainty is what makes life so interesting - a drama series where you don't know the ending is surely more interesting than ones with a predictable ending, which are always so boring! Just like corporations ;)

Startups are the ultimate drama series. We don't know what's going to happen to any of the startups that exist today - whether they've just been born or if they've raised a billion dollars. There are an infinite number of possible endings and I love discussing with other people in the startup world what they believe will happen.

One of most dramatic elements of the startup script in Greater Southeast Asia is market expansion. We live in a part of the world where we are so similar to our neighbors, yet so different. So close, yet so far. Our home markets are big, yet not big enough. So expanding to a neighboring country is frequently on the roadmap for a growing startup in this region. And what makes it interesting is that no one knows if a company's expansion will be successful or not - sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.

This month, I'll be writing a series of posts on this topic. What enables a startup to expand to a new market successfully, and what causes them to run into issues? How should a startup choose its next target market? Will a startup's "secret sauce" ship smoothly to another market, or will it arrive spoiled and worthless? Stay tuned!

Last fall, Nature N8 went to a World Climate Simulation event, called En-ROADS, where participants roleplay as all sorts of different sectors to negotiate for better climate policies. N8 finds out what goes on throughout the simulation, and why this game was created in the first place.

終於回台灣啦！這次紀錄了從美國舊金山回台灣機場的現況，飛機上情形和入境檢疫流程，包括填表格、辦理台灣手機（詳細文字敘述如下）、防疫計程車，供大家參考，但是規定也隨時在更新，大家還是需要去網頁上查詢喔！也特別謝謝地勤、空服員以及防疫人員！大家都辛苦了！

1. 14天不能出門
14 days of quarantine, you can’t go out
2. 早晚量體溫
Check the temperature twice a day
3. 不舒服 打1922
Call 1922 if you are not feeling well
4. 手機開機 電話要接
Keep your cellphone on, answer all the calls


＊檢驗14天必須有台灣手機 他們會關心追蹤
During the 14 days of quarantine, They will call and track you everyday. That’s why you need a local phone number

＊下機後馬上有辦理手機處 所以沒有台灣SIM卡不必擔心，有台灣手機號碼的直接等最後的確認信
（SIM卡辦理15天700元，30天1000元）
You can get a local phone number at the airport

＊辦完SIM卡後再上衛福部的網頁填一次正確的當地台灣電話
When you get the SIM card, fill out the Quarantine System for Entry form again
