Warning: This isn’t noodle. It’s duck Intestines! Yes another recomendation widely seen on food bloggers post. The crystal glass duck intestines RM28 which comes in yes, u guessed it right a crystal “ice” glass shaped in a igloo ball with duck intestines sleeping inside. We thought it look small (portion) but actually couldnt even finish it all! This is also the 1st time I tried duck intestines! There’s no smelly smell or weird taste (tasteless). Texture is like a really rubbery, chewy, ligament strip! Once you dip it into the broth, it shrinks into 1/3 it’s size.

Another Recomendation (swipe left to see) is the Grouper Fish ice bowl! Both dishes def not boring looking on the table. The fish is so fresh, it’s glistening under the light and you can see through its glass meat that’s sliced so skillly!!! I love this fish but it’s RM38 😭

How to Make Kitsune Udon (juicy and tasty deep-fried Tofu) Recipe
Difficulty: Very Easy
Time: 20min
Number of servings: 2
Ingredients
2 frozen Udon noodles *I used TableMark (Katokichi), any brand is OK
2 Aburaage (deep-fried Tofu pouch)
A
* 100ml Dashi broth (using packaged dashi powder saves time)
* 1 tbsp. Mirin (sweet Sake)
* 1 tbsp. sugar
* 1 tbsp. soy sauce
Kaketsuyu (Udon soup)
* 500ml Dashi broth (using packaged dashi powder saves time)
* 2 tbsp. Mirin (sweet Sake)
* 1 tsp. soy sauce
* 1/2 tsp. salt
chopped green onions
Shichimi-togarashi (seven flavor chili pepper) if you like
Directions:
1. In a pot, make 600ml Dashi broth: 100ml for Aburaage, 500ml for Kaketsuyu. I used Kayanoya Dashi - https://amzn.to/3ca6ypI
2. Cut Aburaage into half. Put Aburaage in boiling water for 3 minutes to remove the excess oil. Drain in a strainer, when it becomes cool enough to handle, press with your hands to drain well. By removing excess oil, Aburaage becomes very light and soaks the seasonings very well.
3. In a small pot, put A and Aburaage, then cover with Otoshibuta (wooden drop-lid or you can substitute it with a small plate). Simmer for 7~8 minutes then stop the heat. Do not simmer it down to make it juicy and fluffy.
4. Put Kaketsuyu (Udon soup) in a pot then bring to a boil.
5. Bring water to a boil in a large pot, if your pot is small cook Udon 1 serving at a time, cook Udon on medium high heat as directed on its package. (Cooking time was 1 minute for TableMark frozen Udon) You shake the noodles in boiling water then stop the heat when they are separated.
6. Wash with cold water to remove the slimy texture. Put Udon again in boiling water to make it warm. Using the edge of a serving bowl, slide in the noodles.
7. Pour in some Kaketsuyu (Udon soup), place Aburaage, and garnish with chopped green onions. Put some Shichimi-togarashi (seven flavor chili pepper) if you like.
I love using Kayanoya Dashi. Vegan/Vegetarian people can use Kombu or Vegetable Dashi broth for the dipping sauce 👍

One might think that sealed in this bright pink chewy flour skin is a sweet treat. But under that sweet delicate looking exterior is a whole new world of flavourful glutinous rice filling, bringing with it a savoury twist.
To make Png Kueh, you would need a special wooden mould in a shape of a peach with a pointed edge. Its unmistakable peach shape comes about from the Chinese symbol of longevity, hence the custom for Chinese to use these as offerings during religious ceremonies. Pink for the gods in heaven and white for the gods in hell.
Not only does the filing play a big part in the taste, the skin also makes or breaks a good Png Kueh. If you want your Png Kueh skin thin, sticky and tender, make sure to watch the ratio of flour and water. Too much flour makes the skin tough while too much water makes it fall apart. But fret not, follow our recipe and you have no worries getting that soft bouncy texture.
Add a boost to that savoury flavour and drizzle on sweet soy sauce. This delicate sweet pink Teochew traditional snack, makes your day even just by looking - the perfect comfort food enjoyed by all generations at any time of the day.

Mee Hoon Kway (面粉粿) or Banmian (板麵) is a popular noodle dish in Singapore. You can almost get them from any of our local coffeeshops and food courts. The dish is made up of handmade noodles served in simple light broth, usually with some vegetables, minced meat and topped with a half-cooked egg.
Most Singaporean Chinese (especially ladies) love a bowl of piping hot Mee hoon kueh or Ban Mian (handmade noodles). There are a few key components to making this dish worth queuing for at our local food court. The most important one has to be the soup base then comes the texture of the noodles, the minced meat in the soup as well as the accompanying chilli dip. Yum yum yum! I’m salivating at the thought of writing this (haha!).
From what I understand, the name Ban Mian came from the Hakka Chinese' method of cutting the noodles into strands by using a wooden block as a ruler. I'm a Hakka but I never knew about this!

Ingredients:
Serves 10 - 12
FOR NOODLES:

Mix ingredients together into a dough and rest dough in fridge for 45 minutes to one hour.

1kg plain flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon cooking oil
2 eggs
0.5L water
Some extra plain flour for dusting
FOR SOUP BASE
-------
Put the ingredients in a pot and bring the water to a boil on high heat. Once the water has come to a boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer for one hour.

6L water
750g chicken feet (blanched)
300g anchovies also known as ikan bilis
250g soya bean
2 tablespoons white peppercorns
1 thumb size ginger - crushed
FOR MINCED MEAT

Mix everything together and leave the mixture in the fridge - ready to be used in soup.

1kg minced pork
600g fish paste
2 tablespoons of flounder fish powder (you can replace this with ikan bilis powder or chicken powder)
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
1.5 tablespoons cornstarch or tapioca flour
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon salt
A generous dash of pepper
OTHER INGREDIENTS
