This post is out of gratitude. So, for the past few years I’ve been visiting this small island set out far at sea in the district of Semporna, Sabah. It’s a little piece of heaven, where people are still simple and life is lived out of feeling content. On my first visit, i saw few pieces of asbestos roofing as walls and a few tattered sheets as a roof. They called that a Surau/prayer house. It brought me to tears. Deep down i vow that just as long as they keep simple, i will try to help them and i pray really hard that they do not need to succumb to the negativity of mass tourism. Since then every year i would auction off preloved goods from my sponsors on my facebook. Money collected was sent over to help them out with primary things that they need and want. One of the project was to rebuilt and refurbish their Surau. With a condition that it is also used as a community centre and as a classroom for the children whenever there are volunteer teachers who comes in to teach. I cant give millions but the little that is collected hopefully makes a difference. I try really hard to not let my left hand know what my right hand gives out. It’s a practice that I believe in. But today i just want to let all you gracious sponsors, partners and definitely you who helped in purchasing my preloved goods. Thank you!!
