Happy Friday! Starting off our weekend with something colourful and handmade.

We did a paper chromatography experiment two days ago (see my IG highlights under 'stayhome') and the results were so beautiful that I decided to turn them into something more lasting so we could keep them.

The girls helped to decorate these and write our names while I stuck the kitchen towels onto paper and cut them out before laminating them. Yay, here's a pretty bookmark for everyone in the family, hopefully that will inspire us to read more and learn more.

Looking forward to more experiments and craft sessions with the kids but today being Friday, it's gonna be a time to play, relax and we are gonna have a movie night too. Woohoo! Enjoy the weekend, people!

Sometimes mama will share with her that we don't do certain thing in real life but Joreen will tell me to "PRETEND ONLY" 😂😂😂😂

When Joreen plays with her baby doll, she learns to be gentle and loving towards babies. When she plays doctor, he learns the important concept of empathy. When she play in her pretend kitchen, she learn basic cooking and cleaning concepts.

scissors, paintbrushes and play dough promotes fine motor skills and hand-eye co-ordination. To stimulate gross motor skills, mama always encourage dancing! 😉

Colour Changing Milk Science Experiment❤️

It is just so fascinating to watch the swirling effects of colour. This science experiment is simple to set up and fun!

All you need are:

Fresh milk
Dish soap
Food colouring
Cotton swab

Method:
Add food colouring into milk. (don't swirl it ya)
Then dip cotton swab with dish soup.
Then dip into the milk mixture.
Ta-da amazing swirling effect!

Science fun fact:
Milk is mainly made of water and the other big ingredient is usually fat (not all milk has the same amount of fat). The dish soap bonds with the fat in the milk. This bond is so strong that the water and food colouring are pushed out. The swirling effect is everything else moving around to make room for the dish soap and fat bond.
When food colouring is added we are able to witness this chemical reaction occurring.
