Let me write my burpee journal of the day. It’s those few days of the month. Feeling weak and having stomach cramps since yesterday.
And I know I only have 7 days left in this challenge. I have actually planned out what kind of #burpees video I wanna make today. Obviously it failed. (Please watch the video to the end. It’s words from my heart ♥️)
Finally picked myself up to do my 50 burpees, told myself “aileng, atleast give yourself a breakthrough, do nonstop and breakthrough in speed!” So I pushed. As I rush and started feel weak, many thoughts running through in my little brain 🧠. Finally I had to stop for break cos really too breathless. Then continue the rest. So..... no breakthrough on day 23.
Then magic happens, I started to repost all those challengers video whom tagged me, and replying their PM messages. One thought came in “aileng, why not try do another 50?” So I gave myself another chance.
Just do slowly, felt energised, felt much lighter, not rushing, just focus on one burpee at a time! Keep counting, and ....... there it is! 50 without stopping and no breathless!!!!!
You know what’s the magic? Your videos, your messages, gave me the magic. Gave me the strength and power. I did 100 burpees today!!!! And yes I have breakthrough for Day 23!

Life has been a rat race, we eventually forgot what matters most. Then Covid19 paid Earth a visit, infecting anybody it comes in contact with, whoever you are, wherever you are. It is indeed a wake-up call for all of us. To protect and provide for the ones you love, you first have to stay Alive and Healthy. Any other combination of these two is bad recipe.
I am sure you have come across people at any given time of your life, showing off how many packs of Nasi Lemak or Roti Canai they can eat in a meal. How many ‘rounds’ they ate in a buffet dinner. How many bottles of beers whiskies wine they can drink a night. The top speed they hit driving on a highway, even how many pack of cigarettes they smoke a day.
Why don’t we change that a little? Why don’t we start showing off things like, how many steps you did this week? How many KM you run or hike this month? How many burpees pushups or squats you did today? How much resting heart rate and blood pressure improved?

I learnt a very PAINFUL SCARY lesson...
Got injured at my lower back cause of the one thing i lack discipline on.. my REST! My boyfriend who is one of my biggest pillars of support while my coach isn't physically with me, keeps nagging me on it. He says it's such a waste cause my nutrition and training is alright but my sleep is just pulling me down. Honestly even i'm not sure why...
I can't tell is it because i'm just high strung, i can't sleep, i'm not serious or not discplined. But whatever the reason, i need to fix it..
I have less than a month and half to go, i can't afford anymore mistakes or injuries. This injury gave me a good scare, i was literally in tears the minute i felt the pool. It's still healing but i thank God that it wasn't something as bad as the last injury I had which was around the same area..Caused by nearly the same movements.. the burpees followed by squats (I blame this only cause my quads are tight and I already knew this - so my fault :( )
For the next 40 plus days, making sure i get my much needed sleep. No more playing around. I can't afford it.. It truly is a waste, after all that i'm doing and this one thing will affect the very thing i'm training for.
Side note, i'm so thankful to God for putting his healing hand on me, plus i'm super grateful and blessed that I have the Lifestyle Chiropractic team who attended to my emergency situation immediately. Thank you guys so much, after the adjustment, the cryotherapy, the physio, I was better in a span of a day or two. Of course i'm not gonna do anything crazy, but thankfully I could still workout.
