Finally fixed the problem of not having a solid heavy bag! Alittle DIY later I have my new favorite hitting post! A couple of inexpensive foam mats, duct tape and paracord was all I needed! 台上一分钟，台下十年功。
This year marks my 13th year practicing in martial arts. My background got me into the acting industry, but I never got a proper fight scene choreographed for myself until many years later in ABTM 3. Many have asked whether am I trained in the martial arts that Aloysius mentioned in the film. I'm formally trained in Ninjado(Hybrid martial art), Muay Thai, MMA, boxing and BJJ. Studied Ninjutsu, Kendo, JKD, Wingchun, Judo, Sanshou.
The fight between Hei long & Aloysius was planned with much thought for Aloysius's character. Aloysius knew the meaning of martial arts is to avoid fighting. Hence, the stunt choreographers cleverly designed his preference to evasive techniques rather than striking. Actually, he only threw 3 punches in the entire choreography and you could observe his subtle reluctance to attack Hei Long's face as compared to the latter's head hunting preference. Hei long later proved his skills are actually really good when he defeated 山猪Wild boar with ease.
TRIVA 1)There's actually another short fight scene for Aloysius but it didn't materialize. It was between the pirate leader during the rescue mission. However, having the mission changed to the start of the movie instead of the end would have spoiled the surprise that Aloysius knew how to fight.
TRIVIA 2) There's a deleted scene when Aloysius attempts to reconcile with Hei long after the fight. Aloysius wanted to treat some food during a canteen break but totally blew it by doing the "Not war, make love sign" to long.
