Taiwan’s technical know-how has been very much at the forefront during the #COVID19 pandemic, whether it be former VP and epidemiologist Chen Chien-jen's razor sharp analysis on the airwaves or the quick work of the Academia Sinica and other research institutes in the research and development of virus detecting kits and potential treatments. But #TwoHeadsAreBetterThanOne, which is why news of a #US-#Taiwan cooperation agreement in #science and #technology under the Economic Prosperity Partnership Dialogue framework is music to our ears!
Today MOFA Minister Joseph Wu invited Minister of Science and Technology Tsung-Tsong Wu, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs C.C. Chen and AIT/T Director Brent Christensen for a reception to mark the signing of the agreement, which was signed on December 15 by our representative to the US, Ambassador Bi-Khim Hsiao and AIT Managing Director Ingrid Larson. This came just a month after the dialogue was held, showing that #RealFriends can make #RealProgress around the negotiating table and that we can expect to see further cooperation and exchange in this area.
